Holy shwarma! This stuff is delish. The kalaya is a superb dish of thinly sliced beef cooked in a tasty aromatic and chunky tomato sauce. The lamb gyro is crunchy and the meat is tender.
MoreSome of the best hummus in town. Fresh pita made daily! They have been open for a long time and have been great all these years!
MoreThis restaurant is in our neighborhood and we have been many times. Our favorites are the gyros and hummus with shawarma. Great place with friendly service.
MoreItβs great
Its so goood
Fresh pita bread every morning! The best I've ever had. Also, the gyro they serve in their restaurant is amazing.
MoreFood was delicious the service was quick and very friendly
We had the most amazing pita bread, falafels and hummus. We would be back for sure. Also the place is super clean, the service is nice and the environment is peaceful.
MoreBest hummus around! Service is great, theyβre friendly, and itβs affordable. Iβll be back!
MoreBest Baklava and most authentic hummus I've ever had in my life! Family owned businesses when it comes to food are the best.
MoreYou're not going to find any more authentic Palestinian an Eastern Mediterranean Levant area. Amazing hummus and skewer style Meats cook to a juicy perfection. But if someone asked me what they must have if they're here and I would answer there are two things falafel and the baklava.,
MoreLoved the food! I am a huge fan of Mediterranean cuisine and AlWatan didn't disappoint..They are very hospitable and their food is delicious!! Reminded me of Kuwait...
MoreSmall place you are likely to never know exists. In an odd area as well. But, the food is absolutely wonderful. Great quality and great portions.
MoreI love this restaurant! Their fries & lamb gyro are my go to dish. And if you like hummus, you have to get theirs because it blows any store bought hummus out of the water. The pita bread is also incredible, I could honestly eat it plain. They also have great baklava for dessert.
MoreLove this place. Huge selection of Mediterranean food. Great place to go if you are vegan, vegetarian or not. They have some of the best gyros in town. You can eat in or do take out. I highly recommend their hummus.
MoreThe overall experience was "Westerners, go away!". That's the sign that should be on the door. Good food, but it didn't match the menu that was online. The service was almost non-existent. The one and only server seemed more intent on wiping the tables than serving. He was unfamiliar with the menu. A simple question like, "What vegetables are in it?, stumped him. Never asked what we wanted to drink. Never came back to see if our food was good nor to ask if we needed anything. Nope, we won't be going back. Ever.
MoreThey were so professional amd the food. Was. Some of the best food i have had in a long time. I enjoyed it very much
MoreThe service is usually pretty slow, but friendly, and food is good enough to be well worth the wait. Best falafel I've ever had!
MoreThe food is good. Customers service need improvements.
Love the place, I used to frequent this place when I worked at GE appliance park.....and the chef became so friendly and the servers were very nice .... they make real authentic Palestinian food. The best gyro I have ever had in my life....very generous portions.I once went to this place and saw all the executives of GE including then CEO James Campbell enjoying a meal here ..... everyone loves the atmosphere and best food taste.
MoreThe food was good and tasty, staff are very helpful and kind.
Very authentic food. Good customer service. I love this place.
The hummus and pita bread was delicious. The main dishes were pretty bland. I got a chicken kebab with rice and salad. The salad was super tiny and had too much dressing. The chicken kebab was just bland chicken and no veggies. The rice had no flavor at all. My husband liked his chicken shawarma. We ordered a burger for our 5 year old son, which tasted awful, so we got chicken nuggets instead. They tried to charge us for the burger even though we returned it. Baklava was tasty. Overall the meal was extremely expensive for what we got. Won't be rushing back anytime soon.
MoreThe lamb gyro combo and falafel are my favorite.
Food five. Atmosphere 0.
Great food. Love the hummus and lamb gyros.
Fresh and lively food! Ample amount of rice Anna condiments. Very satisfying highly recommend trying. Excellent place to try if living a non-animal product lifestyle!
MoreVery delicious and good prices!
Good food, good serving n lovely peoples
Great food nice environmental cool people
This is a hidden restaurant, plus many people tell me they look forward to their specialized foods! :)
MoreSome of the best falafel I've ever had!
Best gyro and hummus in town
Excellent food!! Highly recommend.
Really great food! I love this place!
Best Palestinian/Middle Eastern food in Louisville Metro, perhaps in the entire state of Kentucky as well as Indiana and Ohio.
MoreGreat food. Little pricey.
A hidden gem in the city that has amazing food, great service, and a wonderful store with fresh bread next door! I suggest this restaurant to any gyro lover especially if you like lamb!
MoreI only had hummus and falafels and rice for my toddler. The hummus was very good as were the falafels. Kind of expensive though for rice and vegetable. I'd go back for hummus and falafel but probably not get rice again. Hummus came with two pitas but 3 would have been better. I'd still go back unless I find something else amazing in the area.
MoreDon't come for the ambiance, but the food is amazing. Best falafel and gyros in town. The prices are very reasonable too.
MoreGrt food ......gyro is too notch they even kinda gave me the wrong order on a salad but I didn't even care it was soooooo good .....quick too ....
MoreVery friendly people and delicious food.
This is a fantastic little place tucked away just off Hikes Lane on Klondike. It's not terribly impressive from the outside, but it's what inside that counts. And what's inside is the best lamb gyros in town by a wide margin.Fresh, house-made pita is jammed full of crispy, delicious gyros and dressed with just the right amount of tangy tsatziki sauce, lettuce, and tomato. The combo, which includes a side of workmanlike fries and a can of soda, is a great value at $9. It's a heck of a lot of good, wholesome food, and you'll finish your meal full and satisfied. There's much more on the menu than just the gyros, and I've been told by multiple people that there are some other real gems on the menu, but I just can't tear myself away from the gyros. It's not to be missed.
MoreDelicious and quick Mediterranean food. A place I love.
Great food. Nice people. Veeeery good prices
Amazing food, great prices, and a kind staff. This is a must stop in place for great food.
MoreLoved my lamb gyro entree! Ganoush was alright. And, baklava was yummy too! However, my friend didn't enjoy his entree of chicken shawarma. Apparently, it was too dry. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my meal, so full points to Alwatan.
MoreI love this place. Best hummus, baba ghanoush, and falafel in town
